Bowen, Emanuel
c.1693-1767
Emanuel Bowen was one of the most important and leading printsellers and engravers in 18th century London. He was appointed Engraver of Maps to George II of England and possibly Louis XV of France. His apprentices included Thomas Kitchen (who married his daughter) and Thomas Jefferys. Was succeeded in the business by his son, Thomas (c.1732-1790).
